SCHOLARSHIPS & APPRENTICESHIPS

Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre assists emerging Manitoban artists with their education by offering scholarships and apprenticeships.

Jean Murray-Moray Sinclair Theatre Scholarships & Apprenticeships

In recognition and celebration of two Winnipeg personalities who contributed to our theatre’s development, Royal MTC established the Jean Murray–Moray Sinclair Theatre Scholarship almost 50 years ago. Since its creation, the fund has financially assisted more than 517 Manitobans aspiring to a career in professional theatre with over 908 scholarships and apprenticeships. The fund is sustained by Royal  MTC’s patrons, who generously respond each season as we “pass the prop” during the run of one John Hirsch Theatre production.

  • Scholarships – Awards funding to full-time students attending accredited theatre schools, or university theatre programs, who intend to pursue a career in theatre.
  • Apprenticeships – Awards work-experience positions to emerging professional artists who have completed accredited post-secondary training within the past two academic years and are looking for opportunities to gain experience in professional theatre.

The application deadline for the 2018/19 Jean Murray-Moray Scholarships and Apprenticeships has now passed.

The application form for the 2019/20 season will be available in February, 2019.

Note: Artists with three or more years of demonstrated professional experience are eligible for Royal MTC's Design & Director Assistant Program.
