CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND WORK OF AGATHA CHRISTIE

Agatha Christie is the best-selling novelist of all time, selling more than a billion copies in both English and foreign languages. Nicknamed the “Queen of Mystery,” Christie is best known for her literary talent and famous works like Murder on the Orient Express and The Mystery of the Blue Train.

The 17th annual Master Playwright Festival highlights her extensive body of work, which includes 66 detective novels, 150 short stories and 19 plays. The Mousetrap, which opened in London's West Theatre in 1952 has been the longest continuously running play in history. Running for 64 years with more than 26,000 performances, it shows no signs of ending any time soon.

"Plots come to me at such odd moments, when I am walking along the street, or examining a hat shop...suddenly a splendid idea comes into my head." - Agatha Christie, An Autobiography
