The characters speak directly to the audience to claim their favoured role as either hero or villain. As they tell their stories – the knife thrower who cannot hit the dot, his miraculously pregnant wife, the out-of-work actor and the neurotic who keeps reliving her past – they reveal their concerns to be both serious and absurd. Five of Winnipeg’s best professional actors present this reading as a benefit for PAL, to support the creation of a Performing Arts Lodge.
