Playwright
Hannah Moscovitch is an acclaimed Canadian playwright and TV writer whose work for the stage has been widely produced across Canada and internationally. She has won numerous playwriting accolades, including the Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award, the Governor General’s Award and the prestigious international Windham-Campbell Prize. Past playwriting includes: East of Berlin, This is War, Bunny, What a Young Wife Ought to Know and Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story (co-created with Ben Caplan and Christian Barry). Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, developed by Halifax’s own 2b theatre, played at both 59E59 Theatres off-Broadway and at the International Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it garnered a landslide of critical praise, including more than 50 four- and five-star reviews, becoming a TimeOut and New York Times Critic’s Pick and receiving six Drama Desk Award nominations. Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story has been touring the world since 2017, and in 2023 it will cross the 400 performances line. Film/TV: Hannah is the Co-Creator, Executive Producer and Head Writer of Little Bird for Bell Media and Rezolution alongside Jennifer Podemski set to air on APTN Lumi and Crave in 2023. Most recently, she was Co-Executive Producer on Interview With the Vampire for AMC with Gran Via and Dwight Street Book Club producing. Hannah splits her time between Halifax and Los Angeles.

ET CETERA Ashley Au (she/they) is a Winnipeg-based bassist, composer, sound artist, arranger, and queer creative. A multifaceted musician, Ashley specializes in the upright and electric basses—performing, touring and recording extensively. As a composer and sound artist, Ashley’s work can be found behind various theatre and dance productions in the city. Current and past projects include work with Weakerthans frontman John K. Samson; folk roots songstress Carly Dow; internationally-acclaimed Americana tastemaker Scott Nolan; composer/trumpeter Chuck Copanace; Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers; and Polaris Prize-nominated hip-hop outfit Super Duty Tough Work. Ashley is the Artistic Director of Cluster: New Music + Integrated Arts Festival. She recently scored her first opera, Inertia (libretto by Christene Brown), commissioned by Loose Tea Music Theatre (TO).
