Upstart Crow

Five hundred years after his death, Shakespeare and his friend Richard Burbage are beguiled by a random jester to leave their graves and watch rehearsals of Shakespeare's plays.
Compiled as an introduction to Shakespeare, this mid-winter fanstasy unfolds in a contemporary rehearsal hall. Beloved scenes from eight of his plays entertain Shakespeare and Burbage while they charm a 21st-century student and actress with tales of their lives. Still furious for having been labelled an 'upstart crow', Shakespeare basks in the music of his words as each scene unfolds.
