Shakespeare's Villains

by Steven Berkoff
KRAKT Theatre

Seats: 80

Steven Berkoff, master of playing the villain on screen (Octopussy, Beverly Hills Cop, etc.), has written a play about some of Shakespeare’s most notorious villains. With often darkly hilarious contemporary analyses of character and qualities of villainy, the narrative eventually gives way to Shakespeare’s words and the villains who spoke them.

Native Winnipegger Kelly Daniels directs multi-nominated stage veteran and 17-year Shaw Festival ensemble member Ric Reid in this “masterclass in evil.”

"What is a villain? A person who is motivated purely by their own lusts, desires and needs, irrespective of the pain they may cause you – even inspired by the pain they may cause you."
