2021 Winnipeg Fringe Update

March 22, 2021

The Winnipeg Fringe will not offer in-person indoor programming this summer. With travel restrictions still in place and general uncertainty around in-person performances, we've made the tough decision to offer a digital-only festival. Although this news is disappointing in many ways and for many people, we're heartened by the success of last summer's virtual festival.

“We were so looking forward to artists and audiences getting together to share in the amazing experience that is the Fringe. But we feel it’s best to be cautious and our priority continues to be the safety and comfort of our artists, audiences, volunteers and staff. We’re excited to share digital content with Fringers this summer and we can’t wait for 2022,” said Executive Producer Chuck McEwen.

Stay tuned for details about festival dates and the scope of programming. In the meantime, we hope you'll enjoy our free Safe at Home series, which continues until the end of the month.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for the festival and its artists.
