Leadership Announcement

December 12, 2023

Today we announce that Camilla Holland will leave the role of Executive Director, after 13 years with the organization. Camilla has been an empathetic leader, a passionate advocate of the arts and has showcased her community-driven approach every step of the way.  In a long-planned transition, Camilla will leave Royal MTC in June 2024.

“Camilla has been an astonishing leader for Royal MTC. Her impact on our theatre, and the arts and culture scene in Winnipeg is undeniable. I feel so lucky to have had such a passionate and high-level partner at my side. With grace and tenacity, she has helped realize our bold vision for this theatre, while ensuring our long-term sustainability through these challenging years. She is truly a gift to Canadian theatre, and we wish her well as she embarks on her next great adventure!” – Kelly Thornton, Artistic Director

“It has been an honour and a joy to serve as Executive Director, and a privilege to co-lead the organization, first with Artistic Director Emeritus Steven Schipper, and now with Artistic Director Kelly Thornton. I have loved working with hundreds of staff and artists whose enormous expertise and energy have helped produced beautiful work on our stages. I’m confident that an amazing new leader will be welcomed by the community, and I look forward to assisting a smooth transition.” – Camilla Holland, Executive Director

Royal MTC is deeply grateful for Camilla's dedication and we're excited to see what she does next. The organization launches a search today for a new Executive Director.
