CoVID-19 update

Last updated: April 23, 2020

Q. What if I have tickets to a cancelled show?

In the interests of public health, we’ve had to cancel the remainder of our 19/20 season. If you have tickets for The Legend of Georgia McBride and/or A Thousand Splendid Suns, explore your options by clicking one of the links below.

Are you a subscriber who hasn’t renewed or is paying by installments? Click here to let us know you'd like a credit toward your 20/21 subscription.

Q. I’ve contacted the Box Office about my tickets from the cancelled performances. When can I expect a refund or a tax receipt?

Thank you for contacting us about your cancelled tickets. Our Box Office staff are working diligently to process these transactions, however with over 10,000 cancelled tickets and limited staff, you can imagine there is a considerable backlog. We're prioritizing refunds which we hope to have completed by mid-May, while tax receipts will be deferred to later in May and June. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your understanding as we work through this process.

Q. Is there going to be a Fringe Festival this summer?

It’s with great sadness that we’ve cancelled the 2020 Winnipeg Fringe Festival (scheduled for July 15–26). The health and community impacts of the virus continue to evolve rapidly and with no certainty as to when social distancing practices, physical isolation measures and restrictions on public gatherings will be lifted, artists are unable to rehearse; our performance venues are closed indefinitely; and staff cannot adequately plan for a full festival when the situation changes daily. Please click for more info.

Q. Is there anything I can do to help?

These are really challenging times for the arts and culture community, as well as for many others. One great way to help is to buy or renew your subscription for next season! If you’re a current subscriber or ticket holder, consider donating the value of your cancelled ticket for a tax receipt instead of a refund.

And, of course, donations are always gratefully accepted. Every bit helps more than you know!

Q. What about the 20/21 season?

We’re confident the curtain will rise again and we’re working hard to make that happen. We’re busily processing subscriber renewals and will continue to do so. We hope you’ll join us for Artistic Director Kelly Thornton’s first season of programming.

Q. What's the best way to get in touch?

The province has sent us home so our building is closed. But we're still working behind the scenes and you can find us at:

**Our Box Office is working through a considerable backlog. It would be a great help if patrons communicate with us online and by email where possible. Thank you for your patience!

We thank all our patrons for the passion and support you continue to show our theatre. We're reminded daily of the importance of connection – the connection we experience when we make great art together. We miss you and we’ll weather this storm together.
