Winnipeg’s Newest Online Arts Magazine

Backstage in the Peg is an online arts magazine that celebrates the incredible artists, arts organizations and local heroes in Winnipeg. This digital series promises to be a great way for audiences to stay connected to theatre in our beautiful city.

EPISODE 2: WATCH NOW

Leadership Chat – An interview with Gail Asper, President of the Asper Foundation.

Ask an Artist – A profile on director and choreographer Kimberley Rampersad.

Punch Line – An improv game show with special guests Andrea del Campo and Gord Tanner.

Whiz Kidz – A feature on some creative kids in Winnipeg, whose school musicals were postponed due to COVID-19.

Local Heroes – An interview with Winnipeg writer, performer and social activist Lara Rae who started The Pantry, a community organization dealing with food insecurity in the West Broadway community.

About Backstage in the Peg

Blending news magazine stories with performance segments including comedy, music and drama, Backstage in the Peg also profiles public figures, artists and arts lovers. Produced by Royal MTC’s Artistic Director Kelly Thornton and Associate Artistic Director Audrey Dwyer, along with Ari Weinberg, Artistic Director of Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, and Manitoba Theatre for Young People’s Artistic Associate Katie German, the program aims to serve the entire arts community.
