FIRST FRIDAYS AT THE WAREHOUSE

Free music before the show!

On the first Friday of each month, galleries, shops and museums stay open late for First Fridays in the Exchange. This free event is a wonderful way to explore the vibrant art offerings in our neighbourhood.

We’re excited to participate with First Fridays at the Warehouse. Our cozy lobby will be open from 6:15 to 7:15pm for patrons who have tickets to the play and those who just want to drop by for some free live music. The bar will be open and tunes start at 6:30pm!

Friday, February 7 (Mix Tapes From My Mom)

Featured artist: Tommy Douglas Keenan

Sweet, dark, sometimes sad, often funny, Tommy Douglas Keenan’s songs balance a keen sense of irony with a naïve optimism. As an actor, he is known obscurely as ‘Tom Keenan’; until recently this was also his musician name, but rabid packs of delirious fans have forced him to change it: one can only spend so much time hiding in limousines.

Since releasing his first album, Romantic Fitness, TDK has toured the country repeatedly as a solo artist and with Heavy Bell, his side project with Royal Canoe frontman Matt Peters. This year he will be releasing his second album, Returns to the Moon. Pre-save his next single, Oh Melody (coming out Feb 28!) here:

His acting career has put him on stages and screens in Winnipeg and across Canada for almost two decades. Fun fact: he and Mixtape Maestro Cory Wojcik collaborated on writing TDK’s song “Sugared Impromptus,” which is available here:
