Parking

We receive a lot of feedback about parking and we realize it can be a challenge. We do lobby the city about street rates/policies but the parking situation is largely out of our control. We don’t own a parking lot (not even the one beside our building) and privately owned lots set their own prices.  As we continue to do our best to improve the situation, we hope the resources below may be helpful.

ON-STREET PARKING

Payment is required Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5:30pm but these hours vary, so always check the specific signage on the street.

NEW: On-street paid parking time limits have increased from 2 hours to 3 in the area surrounding our theatres. The option to extend parking an additional 30 minutes will continue. As always when parking on the street, please check signage carefully.

Parking is free outside of paid hours, and the downtown and Exchange District areas offer complimentary parking after 5:30pm. Sundays and statutory holidays offer free parking all day. Saturdays have two hours of complimentary parking in most areas.

City-owned paystations (on-street and surface lots) have been removed and replayed by a PayByPhone service.

We encourage you to:

  • Download the PayByPhone app in advance.
  • Add your licence plate(s) and payment method.
  • Set up optional reminders and SMS notifications for convenience.

Prepaid Parking Booklets may be purchased at select locations. Visit winnipeg.ca/prepaidbooklets for info and a list of locations.
