Education & Outreach

Enrich your theatre experience and delve deeper into the stories we present on our stages.

Begin your night at the theatre by exploring a component of the production you are about to see! Learn more about theatre through pre-show conversations with local theatre professionals.

Each session is planned with that evening’s performance in mind. Past Pre-Show Chats have featured a variety of MTC staff (including carpenters, wardrobe staff and our associate artistic director), local actors, choreographers and more!

The half-hour session begins at 6:45pm, and before one of the six Pre-Show Chat evenings, a backstage tour will be offered at 6:00pm.

Pre-Show Chats are free with your ticket!

Royal MTC reserves the right to cancel this performance if no tickets are booked within 48 hours of the show.

Each season, Royal MTC offers a relaxed performance, which is designed to welcome audience members who would benefit from a more relaxed environment, including those with sensory sensitivities, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, learning disorders, or anyone for whom the regular theatre experience can be challenging.

Inspired by our co-founders John Hirsch and Tom Hendry and their commitment to young theatre goers, Royal MTC encourages youth to experience live theatre through affordable subscriptions, discount ticket prices and our Backstage Pass program. Click the links to the left for more information.
