Parking

We receive a lot of feedback about parking and we realize it can be a challenge. We do lobby the city about street rates/policies but the parking situation is largely out of our control. We don’t own a parking lot (not even the one beside our building) and privately owned lots set their own prices.  As we continue to do our best to improve the situation, we hope the resources below may be helpful.

Temporary DisruptionS:

Sat Oct 18 & Sun Oct 19:

  • The City of Winnipeg has granted permission for filming to take place in the area. The film company will be moving into the neighbourhood on Saturday at approximately 6pm. Filming will take place on Sunday, at which time Bannatyne Ave. (between Rorie and Waterfront) will be closed and there will be intermittent traffic control on Rorie St. (between Lombard and Market) and Market Ave. (between Lily and Bertha).
  • The filming won't affect the entire neighbourhood but if parking on the street, please read signage carefully. Questions? Please call the City of Winnipeg Film and Special Events office at 204 986 2138.

Tue Oct 21 & Wed Oct 22:

  • The parking lot adjacent to our building on Market Ave. (which we do not own) will be closed for repaving. This closure will affect Tuesday evening and Wednesday matinee performances. We expect the parking lot to be open for Wednesday evening's performance.

Ongoing:

  • Please be advised that Rupert Ave. is currently closed between Main St. and Lily St. due to construction.

ON-STREET PARKING

Payment is required Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5:30pm but these hours vary, so always check the specific signage on the street.

NEW: On-street paid parking time limits have increased from 2 hours to 3 in the area surrounding our theatres. The option to extend parking an additional 30 minutes will continue. As always when parking on the street, please check signage carefully.

Parking is free outside of paid hours, and the downtown and Exchange District areas offer complimentary parking after 5:30pm. Sundays and statutory holidays offer free parking all day. Saturdays have two hours of complimentary parking in most areas.

City-owned paystations (on-street and surface lots) have been removed and replayed by a PayByPhone service.

We encourage you to:

  • Download the PayByPhone app in advance.
  • Add your licence plate(s) and payment method.
  • Set up optional reminders and SMS notifications for convenience.

Prepaid Parking Booklets may be purchased at select locations. Visit winnipeg.ca/prepaidbooklets for info and a list of locations.
