Jo March and her sisters struggle to make ends meet while their father serves in the American Civil War. Facing societal pressures to get married, Jo is determined to forge her way as a writer. While Marmee bestows the virtue of self-sacrifice on her daughters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy must learn to navigate the complicated and exciting world of adulthood.
 
Filled with spirit, heartbreak and hope, the story of the March sisters has inspired generations of young women to trust their voice in a world trying to shape them. Showcasing the talents of an all-local cast, this timeless classic is a wonderful way to embrace the spirit of the season.

ET CETERA Ashley Au (she/they) is a Winnipeg-based bassist, composer, sound artist, arranger and queer creative. A multifaceted musician, Ashley specializes in the upright and electric basses – performing, touring and recording extensively for the last 15 years. Current and past projects include work with Weakerthans frontman John K. Samson; composer/trumpeter Chuck Copenace; and Polaris Prize-nominated hip-hop outfit Super Duty Tough Work. As a composer, Ashley has had work commissioned and performed nationally and internationally. She has most recently had work premiere at the Senate of Canada in Ottawa as well as had work exhibited in London, UK. She is the Artistic Director for Cluster: New Music + Integrated Arts Festival.
