Centre Stage: Indigenous Voices in Theatre

Presented by the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, this panel highlights the breakthrough of Indigenous representation in Canadian theatre, the crucial role of storytellers throughout history, and the work that is underway to amplify authentic and diverse presentations of culture in contemporary media.

Facilitated by Sam Vint (director, playwright and filmmaker), this panel discussion features the work of former Pimootayowin Creators Circle participants Dave McLeod (ELEVATE: Manaaji’idiwin), Rhonda Apetagon (In the Shadow Beyond the Pines), and Don Osler (Technical Director, Royal MTC) in connection to past and upcoming productions at Royal MTC, the strengthening network within the local and national artistic community, and the celebration of Indigenous arts and culture across Turtle Island.
